  • Colorado Division of Behavioral Health (DBH)
    DMH is a division of the Colorado Department of Human Services, which oversees the state’s 64 county departments of social/human services, the state’s public mental health system, Colorado’s system of services for people with developmental disabilities, the state’s juvenile corrections system and all state and veterans’ nursing homes.

  • Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law
    The Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law is a national legal advocate for people with mental disabilities. Through precedent-setting litigation and in the public policy arena, the Bazelon Center works to advance and preserve the rights of people with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities.

  • President’s New Freedom Commission on Mental Health
    President George W. Bush established the President’s New Freedom Commission on Mental Health in April 2002 as part of his commitment to eliminate inequality for Americans with disabilities. The President directed the Commission to identify policies that could be implemented by Federal, State and local governments to maximize the utility of existing resources, improve coordination of treatments and services, and promote successful community integration for adults with a serious mental illness and children with a serious emotional disturbance.

    EMPOWER Colorado is a nonprofit organization created by parents and families to provide Support, Education and Advocacy for parents and families of children with mental health issues (brain disorders).

  • Families First Colorado
    Families First envisions a community that welcomes the responsibility to nurture children and strengthen families. The organization provides services which strengthen families and protect children from the cycle of child abuse and neglect. Services include a Family Support Line, Parent Support Groups, Parent Education Classes and Residential Treatment.

  • Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health—Colorado
    Promotes mental health for all children, youth and families.

  • National Alliance On Mental Illness (NAMI)
    NAMI is a nonprofit, grassroots, self-help, support and advocacy organization of consumers, families, and friends of people with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic and other severe anxiety disorders, autism and pervasive developmental disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and other severe and persistent mental illnesses that affect the brain.

    The Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) is the only national, non-profit membership organization dedicated to informing the public, healthcare professionals and legislators that anxiety disorders are real, serious and treatable.
